The Alma Airedales scored six runs in the first inning of Tuesday’s 5A-West doubleheader at Vilonia.
But the Eagles erupted for 11 runs in the second inning and rolled to a 16-7 victory. Vilonia’s Devin James went 3-for-5 with a home run and five RBIs.
The Eagles’ Drew Killough was the winning pitcher.
Losing pitcher Drew Montgomery’s two-run single gave Alma a quick 3-0 lead. Peyton Canfield added a two-run single in the opening frame.
